Beauty is beyond superficial looks and aesthetics. I personally feel beauty has got to do with confidence, attitude and personality. A lot of people in my circle also confuse makeup with beauty. While makeup can make you look beautiful, you radiate your actual beauty when you take good care of yourself.
I treat my body as a temple and have been taking care of it well in terms of what I eat and what I use. Though at one point in my life, I used to frequent to parlors and skin treatment centers, I realized they were not my final solution. I had to visit them every month. Plus, I was also becoming increasingly considerate about the excessive use of chemicals on my body.
Ever since I started reading about the health consequences of chemically synthesized beauty products, I decided I would shun them away for good.
And I did, too.
That’s when I started resorting to organic alternatives and home remedies for my skincare regime. I got introduced to simple do-it-yourself hacks from one of my colleagues and there has been no looking back ever since. From months of application, all I can say is they are not only cost-effective but my skin feels less irritated and better as well.
So, I thought why not share a few insights so you could benefit too! Even if you still want to stick to beauty products, these tips would help.
This is one of my favorite home beauty treatments. This procedure removes black-heads from your skin almost immediately and gives your skin a natural glow. To get started, pick up a lemon and cut it into half. You can also use an old lemon from your fridge. To the lemon, add 4 drops of honey. Now use the lemon as a loofa and rub it on your face. Rub more on your areas of concern. Once done, leave your skin to dry naturally. After it does, wash your face with cold water. You could almost instantly see results.
If you’re a fan of dark nail polishes like I am, you would relate to this. Despite being nail polish enthusiasts, there are times we would like to look at our nails white. That’s exactly when you follow this procedure. Buy hydrogen peroxide from your local chemist shop and get a packet of baking soda as well. Boil water to lukewarm and add 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide and 21/4 spoons of baking soda. Rinse a little and place your feet or hands inside. Let them rest for a few minutes. When you take them out, you’ll have white nails.
While we take care of all other parts of our face and skin, we tend to overlook teeth for some strange reasons. Brushing is inevitable but you can also use this procedure to whiten your teeth. Considering the amount of caffeine and fast food we have in a day, taking care of the natural color of your teeth is essential. For this, all you have to do is brush your teeth with baking soda at night after you’re done brushing it with paste. This helps in removing stains from your teeth.
Waterproof makeup products are god sent, agreed. But you cannot deny the time it takes to remove them completely. Because they are water-proof, you obviously cannot spend too much time trying to remove your mascara or lip color using water (duh). You need something extra.
You need coconut oil or olive oil. Take some cotton and make a ball of it. Dip it in the oil (not too much) and apply it gently on your makeup. Now use your face wash to wash your face. You’ve just minimized the efforts you have to put in to remove waterproof makeup products.
The best thing about home beauty treatment is that it can be done in minutes. They are cost-effective as well. So, if these fascinate you, look up the internet for more useful hacks.
